Vista Bank has now integrated into the national payment system RoPay, which supports instant peer-to-peer (P2P) money transfers without requiring banking information.

Instant P2P Payments with QR Codes

The primary feature introduced by RoPay through Vista Mobile Banking is the ability for individuals to send and receive funds instantly using QR codes. Here’s how it works:

• The recipient generates a QR code that can be shared with the sender.
• Upon receiving the QR code, the sender scans it from their mobile banking app.
• The sender then confirms the payment details and authorises the transaction.

Vista Bank’s RoPay integration is part of a broader strategy to enhance its platform with fast, secure, and digital solutions. This includes expanding interoperability within the Romanian banking system and enabling various new payment features like alias-based transfers, point-of-sale (POS) payments, e-commerce transactions, and bill payments.

RoPay was created by TRANSFOND in collaboration with the Romanian Banking Association to shift payments from cash to digital methods. It is currently offered through the mobile banking apps of several commercial banks in Romania, aiming to provide a fast, free for individuals, and user-friendly payment method.
