UniCredit Launches New International Payment Service in Partnership with Wise

In a recent announcement, UniCredit has introduced an innovative international payment service tailored for retail customers. This partnership with Wise aims to streamline foreign-currency transactions within the mobile banking application.

The new service is designed to facilitate quick and secure transfers from EUR into various foreign currencies, offering users the same ease of use as domestic transactions. Clients of UniCredit Italy will be able to send payments swiftly to recipients in selected countries such as the UK (GBP), Switzerland (CHF), Hong Kong (HKD), Singapore (SGD), and India (INR). Additional currencies are currently under development.

Expansion Plans and Regulatory Compliance

The launch is expected to enhance UniCredit’s existing payment solutions, including UC PayFX, which supports embedded FX conversion for over 120 currencies. Both partners will continue to prioritize meeting the evolving needs of their clients while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

UniCredit plans to roll out this service to its Italian customers starting July 21, 2025. Future expansions are anticipated to include more countries around the world.
