Global technology services provider DXC has entered into a 10-year strategic agreement with Unicaja to improve and modernize the latter’s banking operations.

The agreement supports Unicaja’s 2025-2027 strategy by accelerating the development of customer service enhancements, personalized products, and operational agility. It also includes DXC’s assistance in prioritizing secure banking systems that align with European regulations.

Potential Acquisition and Leadership Transition

Subject to regulatory approval, DXC is set to acquire FK2, a Unicaja Group company, and take over the leadership of a specialized team with deep banking and technology expertise. DXC representatives noted that this partnership further cements their position in the banking sector. They emphasized that the deal will enable financial institutions worldwide to benefit from DXC’s experience and industry insights to improve their operations.

At the beginning of 2025, Unicaja also partnered with Fiserv to develop advanced payment and e-commerce solutions. This collaboration aimed to address the growing demand from merchants in Spain across various sectors by merging Unicaja’s financial expertise with Fiserv’s technological capabilities, focusing on omnichannel payment processing including POS systems, e-commerce solutions, and multi-currency sales.
