Selfbook has chosen PayPal as its commerce partner to enhance hotel payment processes, integrating PayPal into a seamless agentic experience.

Travelers using PayPal or Venmo for checkouts will enjoy personalized rates and potential savings, driving better conversion for Selfbook’s hotel customers.

Selfbook’s hotels are set to appear on the Offers tab within the PayPal app. Additionally, many hotel brands partnering with Selfbook will offer PayPal Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options. PayPal users can access a network of hotels from Selfbook without incurring commission fees.

Both Selfbook and PayPal collaborate with Perplexity to enable customers to search, book, and pay for hotels directly through chat. As travelers increasingly rely on AI agents for travel planning, optimizing the checkout process via agent chat is crucial. Enterprises that offer multiple payment methods like PayPal and Venmo at checkout often see increased conversion rates.

According to company data, PayPal has been shown to boost online travel purchase conversion by an average of 84%. As one of the largest purchases people make online, traveling is projected to generate significant revenue, with a forecasted growth rate of 3.91% annually until 2025. The hotel market, constituting a substantial portion of this sector, is expected to reach a value of US $443.07 billion by then.

Thus, Selfbook will integrate PayPal and Venmo as payment options within the hotel booking process, offering customers flexible and diverse payment methods at checkout. Credit card processing for Selfbook will transition to PayPal’s Enterprise Payments system.
