Shopify merchants in the United States and Germany now have direct access to DHL shipping services through the Shopify platform, thanks to an expanded integration between the two companies. This initiative aims to simplify cross-border logistics.

Rollout of DHL Services on Shopify Platform

The feature is part of a broader collaboration that will continue expanding into other markets in 2025 and 2026, with the goal of reducing complexity for sellers. Merchants can now use DHL’s infrastructure without additional onboarding processes, thanks to integrated tools supporting customs clearance and tax compliance.

Simplified International Ecommerce

By embedding DHL functionality into Shopify Shipping, merchants can connect with DHL’s delivery network in over 220 countries and territories. DHL representatives emphasize that the partnership aims to overcome challenges such as duties, customs, and local delivery arrangements for unfamiliar jurisdictions.

US Market Specifics

In the United States, the integration supports Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping, ensuring merchants handle all import-related charges in advance. This feature aims to minimize unexpected costs at the time of delivery for consumers.

Future Expansions

The DHL-embedded shipping solution is set to be rolled out across various ecommerce markets in Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific over the next two years.

Previous Collaboration

In April 2025, Shopify worked with Affirm to enhance the global expansion of secure and efficient Shop Pay instalments. This partnership allowed merchants in specific regions to offer Shop Pay Instalments powered by Affirm, marking the first expansion outside of the US to improve customer experiences.
