Selfbook has chosen PayPal as its commerce partner to enhance the hotel payment process, integrating it seamlessly into the agentic experience.

Travelers using PayPal or Venmo for checkouts can benefit from personalized rates and savings. This integration drives better conversion for Selfbook’s hotel customers.

Enhanced Booking Experience

Selfbook’s hotels will be prominently displayed on the Offers tab within the PayPal app, offering convenience to users who prefer to manage their travel arrangements through this platform. Furthermore, many of the hotels partnered with Selfbook will also offer PayPal’s Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution, allowing customers to access Selfbook’s extensive network without incurring any commission fees.

AI-Driven Checkout Process

Both Selfbook and PayPal are aligned with Perplexity, enabling a streamlined booking process through agent chat. Given the growing reliance on AI agents for travel planning, optimizing the checkout experience is crucial for businesses. Studies have shown that businesses offering PayPal or Venmo at checkout can see an average conversion rate increase of 84%, as reported by PayPal.

Travel Market Projections

The travel and tourism industry is expected to grow significantly, with the global revenue projected to reach US $955.94 billion by 2025, growing at an annual rate of 3.91%. The hotels sector represents the largest market within this industry, forecasted to achieve a market volume of approximately US $443.07 billion in the same year.

Integrated Payment Solutions

To meet the diverse needs of customers and provide seamless payment options at checkout, Selfbook will incorporate PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal’s BNPL solutions as part of the booking process. This transition from traditional credit card processing to PayPal’s Enterprise Payments system ensures a more convenient and flexible experience for travelers.
