RS2 Partners with Visa for Enhanced Global Payment Infrastructure
RS2, a global payments technology provider, has joined forces with Visa to offer an end-to-end acceptance infrastructure solution. This collaboration integrates Visa’s front-end authorisation services with RS2’s robust back-end processing capabilities, providing banks, fintech firms, and merchants worldwide with a more efficient, scalable, and secure payment platform.
According to the companies involved, early implementations of this integration are already being rolled out in regions such as Europe and Latin America. There is also significant interest from various financial institutions seeking modern and practical solutions to meet the rapidly changing demands of the global payments landscape.
The new platform leverages RS2’s API and cloud-native architecture, seamlessly integrated with Visa’s services, knowledge base, and extensive global network. This setup allows clients to launch new capabilities, operate smoothly across multiple currencies, countries, and channels while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within a secure, real-time processing environment.
RS2’s Focus on Modernization
In April 2025, RS2 introduced an AI-powered orchestration layer to help banks modernize legacy systems without disrupting daily operations. This move followed the publication of RS2’s whitepaper, “How to Solve Banks’ Legacy System Challenges While Controlling Risk,” which highlighted that up to 70% of banks’ IT budgets were being consumed by maintaining outdated infrastructure.
The push for modernization came as financial institutions faced increasing pressure from fintech competitors, rising customer expectations, and stricter regulatory standards. The looming ISO 20022 migration deadline in November 2025 further intensified the need for banks to upgrade their core systems or risk operational inefficiencies and non-compliance.
