Expanding Payment Options for Travel Merchants
PayTo is a real-time payment solution launched by the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)-quoted Webjet Group, enabling users to make direct bank transfers without surcharge payments. This integration aims to enhance the checkout process, providing customers with more convenient and faster payment options.
Motorhome Republic, a motorhome and campervan rental agency based in New Zealand, has over 45 pick-up locations worldwide, with significant presence in Australia. Through Volt’s PayTo feature, customers can now select ‘PayTo – instant bank transfer’ at checkout, along with other options such as debit card, credit card, or PayPal.
Streamlining Payment Processes
With the implementation of PayTo, customers entering their PayID or bank details will set up a payment agreement and initiate transfers directly from their bank accounts. This pre-authorized agreement allows for automatic future payments with just one click.
Webjet has announced its intention to offer Volt through Optty’s payment orchestration platform, reflecting the shared goal of all parties—speed, efficiency, and an improved user experience.
Global Expansion Plans
While PayTo will initially be available in Australia, Motorhome Republic plans to integrate Volt’s API for real-time payments in the UK and Europe. In the UK, the service operates on Fast Payments rails with a “Pay by Bank” option, while in Europe, it uses SEPA Instant.
This strategic move comes after the closure of the popular instant payment system, POLi, managed by Australia Post.
