Recently, the payment service provider Mollie has expanded its operations to Hungary, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic. This move aims to offer tailored payment solutions and local support to businesses in these regions.

Mollie’s Expansion Strategy

Mollie’s expansion enables businesses within these countries to leverage a unified platform for simplified payment processing, enhanced reporting, and improved fraud prevention. The company seeks to address the challenges faced by entrepreneurs using legacy payment tools through personalized financial solutions designed to meet specific local needs.

To facilitate this process, Mollie is actively building a local team that will work directly with customers, ensuring tailored support in Hungarian, Slovenian, and Czech languages.

Localized Payment Solutions

Mollie offers a range of localized payment methods suitable for different markets. These include Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank and credit card payments, PayPal, Pay by Bank, and Klarna (set to launch soon). The firm also provides quick onboarding processes in these regions, ensuring businesses can easily start accepting payments and boost their conversion rates.

E-commerce Integration

Businesses in the three markets will also benefit from plugins for e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Shopware, PrestaShop, Magento, and WooCommerce. These integrations make it easier for businesses to accept payments directly through their online stores.

Mollie plans to expand into additional EU countries in the near future and has already established a presence across Europe by focusing on customer-centric services. The company now serves over 250,000 businesses with its payment and money management solutions.

The Tap Payment Terminal

In June 2025, Mollie introduced the Tap payment terminal to support small business owners. This device offers a user-friendly interface for in-person payments, making it easier for businesses such as hair salons, cafes, market stalls, and taxi companies to accept contactless transactions.
