Ingenico, a provider of payment acceptance services, has obtained certification for its AXIUM SX5000 products under the latest PCI PTSv7 standard.

This new certification enhances the security of payment terminals and other devices used to process card transactions at the point of interaction. The focus of the PCI PTSv7 certification is primarily on safeguarding against physical tampering and malware attacks.

The certification standards include security requirements for biometric sensors and accessibility features for PIN entry, thus optimizing the internal security of Ingenico’s AXIUM SX5000 terminals. This certification was secured due to the way its new product’s software and hardware were designed with a strong emphasis on long-term security and frequent updates. The certification is valid until 2035.

Secure and Certified Terminal Devices

The AXIUM SX5000 terminals offer a secure, modern, and versatile payment solution for self-service environments with easy integration capabilities and robust security features. Ingenico designed the AXIUM SX series to provide reliable configurations, an enhanced user interface, and greater flexibility.

With this certification, Ingenico is dedicated to offering future-ready and safe payment solutions that cater to the evolving needs of its clients, including vendors, acquirers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and merchants. The company also focuses on complying with industry laws and regulatory requirements.

Ingenico’s innovative approach in terminal design enabled it to secure this certification by anticipating future security standards during the development process of the terminal device solution. By sending its security test report early to PCI SSC, the company ensured that its technology was ready for deployment and demonstrated a strong commitment to security.
