Fashion retailer Bonprix introduces new payment solution in Nordic regions via Trustly
Bonprix, a subsidiary of the Otto Group and operating across 16 European countries, has partnered with Trustly to introduce a streamlined payment method for its Nordic operations. The partnership encompasses Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
The integration involves Trustly’s account-to-account (A2A) payment technology, aiming to simplify transactions and potentially reduce the rate of cart abandonment on Bonprix’s online platforms in these countries.
Collaborative approach with Computop
This rollout is a collaborative effort between Bonprix and Computop, a global provider of payment solutions. According to Bonprix representatives, integrating Trustly’s A2A payments will allow customers to directly pay from their bank accounts during checkout, thereby eliminating the need for traditional card-based transactions.
Focus on direct banking and checkout optimization
Trustly’s A2A payment method leverages open banking infrastructure and is available in over 30 countries. It aims to lower transaction friction and enhance security during the payment process by connecting consumers directly to their banks.
Officials from Trustly emphasized that supporting Bonprix’s Nordic operations aligns with their broader strategy of improving ecommerce payments through faster, more user-friendly methods. They also noted the role of partners like Computop in facilitating the deployment of these solutions.
Bonprix’s digital commerce strategy
Bonprix uses this integration as part of its wider digital commerce strategy in Northern Europe. Representatives indicated that enhancing the customer payment experience remains a key focus, and the Trustly partnership is seen as an essential step towards improving overall service delivery.
Trustly’s platform includes advanced security technologies such as biometric-based face authentication through its Azura solution. These features are designed to simplify the user journey while providing additional layers of protection.
Founded in 1986, Bonprix has a presence in several markets beyond Europe and is headquartered in Hamburg. It also operates B2B operations in various regions.
