BNI Madagascar has adopted an updated version of the Temenos digital banking platform, with assistance from Orion Innovation.

This deployment is part of a broader effort to modernize the bank’s online presence. A new mobile application was introduced that departs from conventional design patterns to better suit local user preferences.

The redesigned app was created through close cooperation between Orion and BNI Madagascar, with a focus on aligning with the bank’s long-term objectives and visual identity. According to Orion officials, this process involved addressing numerous design and technical aspects to ensure the system can accommodate future growth while simplifying current operations.

BNI Madagascar stated that the new mobile platform is designed for more intuitive user interaction, aiming to go beyond basic mobile banking by enhancing ease of use and accessibility. Post-launch internal evaluations have shown increased user engagement and largely positive feedback regarding the application’s structure and usability.

Digital Transformation in African Markets

Temenos officials noted that BNI Madagascar’s deployment is indicative of a trend toward digital transformation across various African regions. These banks are striving to enhance service delivery and customer engagement more efficiently.

Orion representatives highlighted the scalability of the platform, noting its ability to support rapid feature rollouts, which will enable BNI Madagascar to remain agile in response to changing customer needs.

In a related development earlier this year, EastWest Bank in the Philippines also chose Temenos’ Software as a Service (SaaS) model for its core banking upgrade. Such deployments reflect an increasing trend among financial institutions seeking customized digital solutions that are tailored to their specific contexts.
