Flexa has introduced a feature called Mini App Payments, aimed at facilitating in-person digital asset transactions through integrated wallet environments.
This new functionality is currently operational for several retail chains such as Chipotle, Regal, and Sheetz, with plans to expand to additional retailers. Consumers can utilize these mini apps to access self-contained payment flows via scannable QR codes.
Transactions are processed using the wallets built into each platform, eliminating the need for traditional payment hardware or cards.
Supporting Integration with Social and Discovery-Based Platforms
The Mini App Payments system was designed to support payment flows within discovery-driven digital environments. Users can initiate purchases while browsing content or interacting with merchants on supported platforms, without needing to leave the app to complete a transaction.
At launch, the payment infrastructure is compatible with Base, Ethereum, and Worldchain networks. Currently supported tokens include ETH, USDC, WLD, as well as several Base-native assets like Coinbase-wrapped BTC, DOGE, TOSHI, $ZORA, PROMPT, and MORPHO.
Flexa reports that the integration with Base and Farcaster is already available, while World App compatibility is expected soon. This feature is currently accessible to all merchants integrated with Flexa’s network. The company intends to extend Mini App Payments to other networks and applications, with further updates anticipated as development continues.
