From late 2022, crypto payments will be available to all FARFETCH customers in the US, UK, and Europe. The service is set to expand to other regions over time.
Initially, FARFETCH will accept seven different cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Binance Coin (BNB). This initiative follows the introduction of crypto payments at select retail stores within the FARFETCH Group in March 2022. The company plans to roll out this service to more stores, including the upcoming launch at a Palm Angels flagship store in Milan.
Collaboration with Lunu
To facilitate these crypto payments, FARFETCH has partnered with the global cryptocurrency platform, Lunu. The collaboration will provide POS terminals for in-store transactions and an online widget. This partnership aims to share expertise and capabilities with the broader FARFETCH community of boutiques and brands that wish to incorporate this solution into their retail operations, helping to integrate digital currencies more broadly within the luxury industry.
FARFETCH is a global e-commerce platform dedicated to the luxury fashion market. It originated as an online marketplace for boutique partnerships but now serves customers across 190 countries and territories with items from over 50 nations, including more than 1,400 top brands, boutiques, and department stores.
