Supporting Banks in the Transition to Real-Time SWIFT Payments
Broadridge Financial Solutions provides connectivity, message processing, and workflow management services to aid banks in leveraging SWIFT payments.
To assist financial institutions in complying with the October 2025 European deadline for real-time SWIFT payments, Broadridge has undertaken this initiative. This move underscores the company’s dedication to enhancing transaction speed and efficiency across Europe.
As instant payments become a regulatory requirement starting in October 2025, financial institutions are looking for scalable and cost-efficient solutions to meet compliance requirements. Recognizing these needs, Broadridge aims to support banks by minimizing onboarding complexity and offering cost advantages that boost operational performance and growth.
In just five months, Broadridge has onboarded seven clients, partnering with core banking solution providers like CPB SOFTWARE and instant payment application providers such as Foconis. These collaborations enable real-time payments through integrations with the European Central Bank’s Target Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS) system.
CPB SOFTWARE highlighted that Broadridge stands out for its rapid deployment capabilities, helping clients go live in five months, a significant improvement over most providers who require six months or more per institution. This is crucial given the fast-paced nature of today’s payments environment.
The instructing party model developed by Broadridge alongside the TIPS system has driven client adoption, reduced costs significantly, and simplified compliance while accelerating time to market. The company’s infrastructure ensures active-active failover across two data centers, providing uninterrupted service availability, reducing risks, and enhancing resilience through real-life pre-testing scenarios.
Through its partnerships with CPB SOFTWARE and Foconis, Broadridge enables rapid deployment for financial institutions. Its solution is designed for continuous operation, processing transactions in less than 10 seconds without downtime, leveraging SwiftNet Instant connectivity to enhance efficiency. This allows banks to handle high-volume transactions for the currency set of instant payment transactions while preparing for future transitions.
