Next Biometrics has launched a new fingerprint sensor named NEXT Granite Sensor. This addition complements their existing Basalt FAP 20 series. The NEXT Granite sensor features a larger sensing area by 67%, enhancing accuracy, resolution, and security for critical applications such as government identification, law enforcement, healthcare, banking, finance, and access control.

Potential benefits of the new sensor

  • Anti-spoofing and fake finger detection;
  • Anti-latent rejection;
  • ISO/IEC 19794-2 template format compliance;
  • Tolerance for complete 360-degree rotation;
  • One-touch enrolment and verification.

Next Biometrics has accumulated over 10 million sensors, and their Active Thermal technologies are certified by Aadhaar, FBI-PIV, MOIP Compliance, and NIBSS. The new sensor incorporates Active Thermal technology that utilizes both finger heat and 3D imaging for enhanced user identification.

The NEXT Granite sensor also reduces thickness while improving image resolution and energy efficiency, making it suitable for integration into various devices like readers, tablets, and terminals. This ensures optimal performance across diverse environmental conditions.
