Global technology company EBANX Partners with APLAZO to Enhance Flexible Payments in Mexico

The partnership between EBANX, a global tech firm, and APLAZO, a Mexican fintech specializing in BNPL solutions, aims to improve flexible payment options for consumers in the country.

This collaboration allows international online merchants to offer accessible finance alternatives tailored to their customers’ needs within Mexico. APLAZO will be integrated into EBANX’s payment platform, making it available for global e-commerce transactions.

Expanding Payment Options and Customer Base

By combining alternative payments such as APLAZO with local card options, companies can broaden their customer base to include Mexican consumers. According to EBANX’s analysis, this partnership could enable merchants to target an additional 72 million customers in the country.

E-commerce is anticipated to grow by 25% annually until 2027 in Mexico, with digital payment adoption playing a crucial role in this expansion. The collaboration between EBANX and APLAZO is expected to help both parties expand their local reach while offering solutions that cater specifically to the demands of Mexican customers.

The integration of EBANX and APLAZO can offer merchants an enhanced payment experience, potentially increasing average purchase sizes, boosting repeat purchases, reducing cart abandonment rates, and tapping into new market segments.

Facilitating Credit Access for More Consumers

APLAZO’s mission is to provide fair and straightforward access to credit. The partnership with EBANX will further this goal by facilitating easier financing options for more consumers in the region, thereby accelerating e-commerce growth in Mexico.

BNPL methods are gaining popularity in Mexico; PCMI forecasts a 20% growth in online sales using BNPL this year, with an annual growth rate of 16% through 2027. This trend is driven by younger generations, with 38% of millennials and 31% of Gen Z shoppers already utilizing BNPL as a payment method.
