This significant milestone marks a key step for MuchBetter as it expands its card issuance capabilities and strengthens its market position in both regions.
Previously, MuchBetter relied on intermediary sponsors to issue cards. With the new licence, the firm can now gain direct access to Mastercard’s network, reducing operational complexities and streamlining time-to-market for clients.
The expanded infrastructure is integrated into MuchBetter’s broader strategy to enhance its business-to-business (B2B) products.
In May 2025, the firm launched a B2B product called MuchBetter Business (MBB), in partnership with Temenos and supported by safeguarding arrangements with NatWest and SWIFT membership. The platform offers multi-currency accounts, supports international payments, foreign exchange execution, and biometric onboarding.
The Mastercard licence will improve the B2B suite by embedding direct card issuing capabilities within MuchBetter’s Cards-as-a-Service (CaaS) infrastructure.
In Israel, MuchBetter is exploring new programme partnerships and product launches to tap into regions and sectors underserved by traditional banking. The company aims to provide tailored financial tools for these areas.
MuchBetter’s portfolio includes a digital wallet for multi-currency transactions, wearable devices for contactless payments, and a gateway platform for B2B payment processing.
According to company officials, the new licence provides operational flexibility, allowing MuchBetter to accelerate its strategic roadmap in key jurisdictions. It also paves the way for onboarding new partners interested in issuing card-based products with built-in compliance support.
