Revolut, a UK-based financial services company, has initiated plans to expand its operations in Israel. It is currently in discussions with the Bank of Israel for obtaining a lean bank license.

Following this development, Revolut aims to secure a lean bank license that would enable it to accept deposits and offer credit services to customers and clients within the region.

Recent Strategic Developments at Revolut

Over the past few months, the institution has unveiled several new partnerships, product launches, and operational enhancements aimed at accelerating its growth strategy and enhancing customer experiences across various regions globally.

In early June 2025, Revolut announced plans to introduce ATMs in Spain, starting with cities like Barcelona and Madrid, with Portugal slated for inclusion in 2026. The company intends to test the first batch of ATMs at the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona between 4th and 8th June 2025 before installing approximately 50 machines each in Madrid and Barcelona. Ultimately, Revolut plans to deploy a total of around 200 ATMs across Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Malaga.

In the same month, Revolut joined the European Payments Initiative, aiming to enhance customer experiences by integrating Wero into its services in France, Germany, and Belgium. This integration will provide clients with additional local payment solutions that improve security and their overall experience.
